Tutorial: Updating Text & Links
You will eventually have a need to update some of the text on your website. There are a few ways in which text can be added and edited, so follow these steps whilst in edit mode and you’ll be good to go.
When updating text within existing text blocks:
Select the text block you’d like to edit, and simply highlight and replace the text with whatever updated words you fancy.
For links, click on the text that contains the link. A pop up will emerge. Click Edit. You can then change what URL the link goes to. Be sure to toggle the Open link in new tab option on or off to whatever you’d prefer. Best practice is that for any link outside of your site, it should open in a new tab.
For adding a link to text, highlight the text you’d like to turn into a link and click the chainlink symbol in the edit bar. Then just type in your link, toggle on or off Open in new tab, and you’re set.
For forms, events, testimonials, and all other content formats that don’t allow you to edit within a text block, please refer to this video tutorial for guidance.
To add a new text block:
In the top left corner you’ll notice a little white box that says Add Block. Click that and then click Text. A text block will appear. You can alter the dimensions of the block to fit where you’d like it on the page, as well as the styling of the text. Refer to the tutorial video for more information on how to format text blocks.
Important reminders:
Don’t forget to click Save.
